Document Verification Issues
Q: What happens if I am unable to arrange my character or migration certificate by the physical reporting date?
The Verified Rule: Your admission will not be cancelled immediately for missing a migration or character certificate. Universities allow you to sign a provisional undertaking form during verification.
The Deadline: You must submit the original certificates before the final university cutoff date (typically late October 2026). Failure to submit by the deadline will result in automatic cancellation of your enrollment.
Q: I passed my graduation exams, but my final year marksheet contains a backlog/essential repeat (ER). Can I provisionally report?
The Hard Truth: No. To be eligible for admission, you must have completely cleared your qualifying graduation degree at the time of final verification. If you have an active backlog in any subject, you will fail the minimum eligibility check, and your provisional allotment will be cancelled instantly.
Q: My CUET PG score card matches the cutoff, but I have a gap year. Is a Gap Year Certificate mandatory?
DU & BHU
They do not explicitly mandate a gap-year affidavit; they only check if you meet the baseline eligibility criteria using your graduation marksheets. [1]
MMMUT
A gap-year affidavit on a legal stamp paper stating the reason for the gap (e.g., UPSC/GATE preparation) is routinely requested during physical document verification on campus.
Fee Management & Multi-Portal Traps
Q: If I get a seat in DU or BHU and pay the fee, but later get a better seat at an NIT via NIMCET, how much money is refunded?
DU & BHU Policy
If you formally select the "Withdraw" option via your Samarth dashboard before the announcement of the final spot/mop-up rounds, you will receive a full refund minus a standard processing charge of ₹1,000. Once the final spot rounds commence, the cancellation/withdrawal window closes completely, and the entire amount is forfeited.
MMMUT Penalty Structure
MMMUT enforces a steep financial trap. For courses like MCA, the seat acceptance fee is ₹80,000. If you withdraw late or after the subsequent online counselling rounds close, a major portion or even 100% of this fee is legally withheld by the university.
Q: Can I pay the counselling or admission fee using someone else's credit card or net banking?
The Risk: Yes, the portal will process the transaction, but it is highly discouraged. In case of seat cancellation, withdrawal, or double-payment reconciliation, all refunds are strictly processed back to the source account from which the payment originated. Always use your own or a parent’s account to avoid losing your refund money.
Spot Round Anomalies & Branch Sliding
Q: If I accept an MSc/MCA seat in Round 1, can I still participate in the Spot Round to look for a better college/branch?
BHU & DU Rule
Absolutely not. The online portal automatically freezes options for already admitted students. The moment you accept and freeze a seat in the regular rounds, you are strictly barred from participating in the Spot Round. Spot rounds are strictly reserved for unallocated, rejected, or freshly registered candidates.
MMMUT Rule
MMMUT permits an internal sliding round for already admitted candidates to fill up vacancies before opening physical spot admissions for external candidates.
Q: Is the category wise reservation applicable during the Spot Allotment rounds?
DU & BHU
Yes, they maintain category-wise vacant seat matrices during their initial spot allocation phases.
MMMUT Physical Spot Round
No. During the final physical spot rounds held at the Gorakhpur campus, all remaining open seats are converted into a Combined General Rank pool. All category relaxations lapse, and seats are given away purely based on open merit to whoever is physically present at the venue with their documents and a fee demand draft.
